What is the “spectrum” of a hemp or CBD product?Updated a year ago

The cannabis Sativa plant contains over 113 cannabinoids, including CBD. When it comes to a CBD product in particular, "Spectrum" refers to the degree of "complete" cannabinoids a product contains. In other words, spectrum describes how close a product is to a "complete" or "whole plant" extract.

Full-Spectrum extract is the "highest degree" of extract, containing all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids in a hemp plant.

Broad-Spectrum typically describes a product with most of the cannabinoids but a non-detectable amount of THC when lab-tested.

Isolate or "THC-Free" refers to a product that contains CBD, without THC, and generally without any other cannabinoids.
